  • Living with Grief

    We know that you and your family have experienced the death of a loved one within the last two years and live with the accompanying grief.   We know that it is important to continue to acknowledge the reality of this loss and to surround yourself with support through family, friends, communities of faith and through other resources.  
    As one of those resources, we want to extend an invitation to you for a “Living with Grief” meeting that will gather the first Tuesday afternoon of each month from 4-5:15 pm at Boulger Funeral Home.  You can come one time, or many times, or occasionally.  The time will be facilitated by Boulger Funeral Home’s Grief Support Coordinators.  
    Meetings will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 4:00-5:15 PM and again at 6:00 PM.
    The next meetings will be July 2.

Sonja Kjar is serving at Boulger's as one of the Grief Support Coordinators. Sonja graduated from high school in Bloomington, MN. In 1986 she graduated from Luther College, Decorah, IA and later from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN. She is an ordained Lutheran (ELCA) pastor (since 1996) and is board certified (since 2006) through the Association of Professional Chaplains. She has served in congregations and hospitals in Eastern North Dakota since 1996.

Sonja lives in Fargo with her husband Brad, and their three children: Annika, Anders and Kai.

Currently, Sonja also works on staff at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, and does some chaplaincy work for Sanford Health.

Because grief and loss are realities in life, she appreciates being able to walk with people, even if only for a time, as they live with life's losses.
