Alma passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo surrounded by her family.


Alma Eleanore Everson was born on September 10, 1937, the daughter of Edwin and Bertha (Solem) Everson in Rolette, ND. She was baptized, confirmed and attended school in Fordville, ND. Alma lived in New Jersey for two years, then returned to Fordville and was united in marriage to Maynard J. Kelley on July 25, 1958 at Fordville Lutheran Church. They moved to Hillsboro in 1963 where they have lived since. Alma worked for the Hillsboro Day Care Center for many years. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the Bosch Ryba Post American Legion Auxiliary in Lankin, ND, and the VFW Auxiliary in Hillsboro.


Alma is survived by her husband, Maynard; her sons, Scott Kelley; Timothy “Teak” (Mary) Kelley - all of Hillsboro; and Jeff (Micki) Kelley of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren – Jared, Nicole, Bobbi Al, Kristi and Nathan; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Ethel Mattson and Edna (Coy) Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Todd; her sister, Lela; and brothers, Eddie and Olan.
