Clarence C. Lind, 92, formerly of Fargo, ND passed away on April 27, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno, NV.
Clarence C. Lind was born on May 19, 1919 in Brainerd, MN the son of Herbert C. & Emma (Elling) Lind.
Clarence graduated from Dilworth High School, Dilworth MN. Clarence was united in marriage to Anne Margaret Dullea in Santa Barbara CA on June 20, 1942. Clarence served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. The couple made their home in Fargo where Clarence worked as a body man in various body shops in the Fargo/Moorhead area. He also owned a body shop in Detroit Lakes, MN and worked at the Ford body shop in Portland, OR. He later went into the insurance adjusting business. He eventually started his own adjusting company, Lind’s Claim Service and after retiring, worked part time for FM Adjusting.
Clarence was a long time member of Holy Spirit Church in Fargo, ND. He was most recently a member of St. Albert the Great, Reno, NV. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post in Fargo.
Clarence enjoyed numerous hobbies over the years including cooking, wine making, building birdhouses, woodworking, gardening and metal sculpting. He is especially remembered for the numerous metal brazed crosses he made for people for special occasions.
Clarence and Anne’s favorite place on earth was their cabin on Hoffman Beach, West McDonald Lake near Dent, MN ; a place where family and friends gathered for years, sitting around the campfire, learning to ski, having good old fashioned fun and making a mountain of memories.
He is survived by his children, Edward (Irene), Reno, NV, Kevin (Gayle), Northport, AL; grandchildren, Shane (Joanne), Topeka, KS, Kirsten (Brian) Puett, Eugene, OR, John David, Northport, AL, Rozelle Lawson, Agana, Guam; great grandchildren, Maria, Jordan, Skylar, Jolie Lind all of Topeka, KS, Kerra Puett, Eugene, OR, David and Aja Lawson, Alana Cruz, Agana, Guam; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife; infant son; parents; and a sister.
