Edward Foy, Jr. (“E.J.”) of Fargo, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fargo.


Ed was born in Fargo, ND on November 22, 1927, the son of Ed ( Sr.) and Susan Rolle. 


He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in 1945 and attended North Dakota State University. At age 17, Ed enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  He served in the Pacific Theatre and returned to the United States after World War II, and was honorably discharged.  He then graduated from NDSU.


Following his education, Ed had a career with the Internal Revenue Service.  He retired after 35 years.   After his career with the IRS, he operated a successful tax and investigation business for 22 years.


Ed was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a life-long member of the American Legion.  He was also involved in paying tribute to our military by riding motorcycle with the Patriot Guard Riders.


“E.J.” enjoyed many interests, including the martial arts, motorcycling, skiing, camping, canoeing, sailing, and water skiing.


He is survived by his wife Brandi, three children, Mike (Helen)Foy, Henderson, NV; Jodi(Glenn), Buhan, Carbondale, CO;  and Juli Foy, Langdon, ND;  one step-child, Nikki (Jason); five grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Kate, Ava, Landon, Owen and Evan; and one sister, Sr. Antonine Foy, Fargo.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Pat, and two sisters, Margaret and Sr. Celine.
