Richard (Dick) Henry Wilson, 81, Fargo, N.D., formerly of Minot, N.D. died peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Sanford Health with his loving family by his side.


Richard was born on October 28, 1930 in Tomah, Wisconsin to Edwin and Carrie Wilson. Richard grew up and graduated from Tomah High School with many football and track awards. On October 29, 1955 he married the love of his life Loa LaVaughn Krause for 56 wonderful years. Richard joined the United States Air Force in 1951 as an instructor. They made a home for their family in many states and in Europe until he retired from the Air Force in 1971.


He worked as a car and truck salesman for Rydell Chevrolet in Grand Forks, N.D. and Ryan Chevrolet in Minot. Throughout his career, he received numerous sales awards. He retired from sales in 1998.


Richard enjoyed watching and attending the Green Bay Packers football team, watching and attending NASCAR races. He loved the time at the cabin on Lake Metigoshe. He was the Captain of the pontoon and fun. He also enjoyed a good game of Pinochle. His greatest happiness was to be with his family in whatever he did.


Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Carrie Wilson; brother Howard, and sisters Jean and Ruth.


Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loa, Fargo, son, Steve (Karla) Wilson, daughter, Debra Wilson, Fargo; grandson, Mark Wilson, granddaughter, Stephanie (Trevor) Anderson, and brother, Robert Wilson, Walla Walla, Washington.  Also surviving are his loving dogs Molly and Haley.
