General Price List

These prices are effective as of January21st, 2009, and are subject to change without notice.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only those items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
A. Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff
Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for service; coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased; securing official documents and necessary registrations and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.

B. Embalming
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or immediate burial.

There is no additional charge for preparation following autopsy or organ donation.

TRANSPORTATION
Unless otherwise noted, all transportation charges contained in this General Price List apply to local area only (within 45 mile radius of funeral home).

DIRECT CREMATION
Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes:  
  • Basic services of staff which includes filing the necessary papers with the State, care of body until transport to the crematory, (not to exceed 24 hours) and coordination with the crematory.
  • Container to transport the body to the crematory.
  • Initial transfer of the deceased from place of death within Cass or Clay counties.
  • Transportation to crematory.

Our charge does not include coordinating a memorial service with the church, providing cash advance items on the family's behalf, obituary submission, or caring for ashes after the cremation.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials, with or without an outside covering. The containers we provide are constructed of wood base cardboard shell.

"Minnesota state law requires the medical examiner to investigate any death where the body of the deceased is to be cremated... as a result funeral directors are required to call the Ramsy County Medical Examiner's office for prior approval on all cremations." If a delay is experienced in receiving approval the funeral home will charge $75.00 per day to care for the deceased until permission is received.  

IMMEDIATE BURIALS

Our charge for an immediate burial without ceremony includes:

  • Initial transportation of the deceased from place of death to funeral home.
  • Transportation of the deceased to cemetery in Cass/Clay counties.
  • Basic services of staff.
  
1. Immediate burial with container provided by purchaser (does not include graveside service) $1095 plus cost of vault
2. Immediate burial with cloth covered casket (does not include graveside service) $1790 plus cost of vault
3. Immediate burial with casket as selected from casket list.(does not include graveside service) $1095 plus cost of casket and vault

FORWARDING OF REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME
This charge includes:
  • Initial transportation of the deceased from place of death to our funeral home
  • Embalming
  • Basic services of staff
  • Local transportation (airline or other shipping charges not included)
 $795 plus cost of Shipping Container

RECEIVING OF REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME
This charge includes:
  • Basic services of staff
  • Care of the deceased
  • Local transportation of the deceased to cemetery or crematory (does not include graveside service, casket or vault)

OUTER BURIAL CONTAINERS

ACKNOWLEDGMENT PACKAGE
This is the charge for the Guest Register, $25; Service Folders, $135; Thank You Cards, $2 per box; Pallbearer Cards, $2 per box; Cross or Shiva Candle, $18; Temporary Grave Marker, $25.
This charge is already included in our traditional funeral service package. 		$145

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE
Professional video tributes for display during visitation and funerals. We creatively blend your collection of photos with music to tell the story of the life of someone special. Available upon request at an additional charge.  

FUNERAL SERVICE BROADCAST

This is a delayed broadcast of the service and is available on the web for 2 weeks after the actual service. Available upon request at an additional charge.
