Living with Grief

We know that you and your family have experienced the death of a loved one within the last two years and live with the accompanying grief. We know that it is important to continue to acknowledge the reality of this loss and to surround yourself with support through family, friends, communities of faith and through other resources.
As one of those resources, we want to extend an invitation to you for a “Living with Grief” meeting that will gather the first Tuesday afternoon of each month from 4-5:15 pm at Boulger Funeral Home. You can come one time, or many times, or occasionally. The time will be facilitated by Boulger Funeral Home’s Grief Support Coordinators.
Meetings will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 4:00-5:15 PM and again at 6:00 PM.
The next meetings will be July 2.

These prices are effective as of March 1, 2013, and are subject to change without notice.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only those items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

We try to put all of our services and charges on our website. It is important when comparing prices that you compare charges equally, item by item. If you have any questions regarding our services and/or charges, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please note: this is a "Package Price" meaning the total of the line items together will be more than the total that is charged when our Traditional Funeral Service "Package" is chosen.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

A. BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for service; coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased; securing official documents and necessary registrations and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.

B. EMBALMING

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or immediate burial. There is no additional charge for preparation following autopsy or organ donation.

DIRECT CREMATION

Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes:

Private Family Viewing

Our Direct Cremation charge does not include coordinating a memorial service with the church, providing cash advance items on the family's behalf, obituary to newspaper, or storage of ashes after the cremation. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials, with or without an outside covering. The containers we provide are constructed of a wood base cardboard shell.

"Minnesota state law requires the medical examiner to investigate any death where the body of the deceased is to be cremated....as a result funeral directors are required to call the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office for prior approval on all cremations." If a delay is experienced in receiving approval the funeral home will charge $75.00 per day to care for the deceased until permission is received.

IMMEDIATE BURIALS

Our charge for an immediate burial without ceremony includes:

Initial transfer of the deceased from place of death to funeral home
Transportation of the deceased to cemetery in Cass/Clay counties
Basic services of staff

Our charge does not include coordinating a funeral service or providing cash advance items on the family's behalf.

MEMORIAL TRIBUTE

Professional video tributes for display during visitation and funerals. We creatively blend your collection of photos with music to tell the story of the life of someone special. Available with our Traditional Funeral Service and/or Memorial Service Package at a discount. If chosen without the package, charge is $150.00.

FUNERAL SERVICE BROADCAST

FUNERAL SERVICE BROADCAST is a delayed broadcast of the service and is available on the web for 2 weeks after the actual service. Available upon request at an additional charge.
